Thing 11

Technology is a mind boggling tool. The stars are no longer the limit, the limits lie only within you as to what you do with this tool.
One thing I want to try to do is help my 2nd grade teacher connect with a classroom in Hawaii and another in Alaska. She wants to do on-line "conferencing" online. We don't have any fancy equipment, our computers have camera's and microphones and I know it's doable. How do I go about finding classroom? Has anyone done this with simple technology? Any advice? comments??

  1. You and your teacher might be interested in looking at the Flat Classroom Project. One of the founders is a teacher named Vicki Davis, who blogs at Cool Cat Teacher Blog. I think the Flat Classroom Project involves different classrooms in different locations around the world working together using many of the new technologies. You might find ideas both on the project page and on the blog.
