Thing 13
I tried Twitter. I can't see me using this. I don't have the time to log on and type little things I do every day. I didn't know anyone to try to follow. I don't want to follow the life of some stranger, I've got zillions of other things I have to do. I could see my kids maybe liking this...but they use MSN, e-mail, or text messaging
Thing 12
I've got an account set up in Library Thing, http://www.librarything.com/home/lib.lady66
I don't think I would use this a lot... I would be interested in the talk forums the most I think. This way I can share what I've read and get other's opinions.

Thing 11
Technology is a mind boggling tool. The stars are no longer the limit, the limits lie only within you as to what you do with this tool.
One thing I want to try to do is help my 2nd grade teacher connect with a classroom in Hawaii and another in Alaska. She wants to do on-line "conferencing" online. We don't have any fancy equipment, our computers have camera's and microphones and I know it's doable. How do I go about finding classroom? Has anyone done this with simple technology? Any advice? comments??

Flickr
Wow... seems the possibilities are endless!
Flickr Flash Puzzle Zone - Kids can take pictures of anything: classmates, letters of the alphabets, teachers...and create puzzles. They can put them together on those inside recess days!
Bubblr: kids can work on figurative language (onomonopia, similies, alliteration...) and create comic strips using pictures of themselves or things/situations around them.
Fastr - you could group objects and show them and see if the kids could put them in a catagorize them
AlphaLearnr - would help with the ELL students - Teaching English through photos.
GLFlickrShow - Could be used after a field trip where the kids took pictures.

Winter "Daze"
Finding Feeds - lesson 7
It was easiest for me to use the "Top 1000" to find ideas of what to subscribe to. Working full time and being a full time mom "off the clock," I don't spend hours on the computer just for me. I need to get info quick and go on. RSS is a great way to do this.
I seemed to lean more towards the "fun" feeds (quotes of the day, word of the day, comics..) maybe life's too serious and I want to find some fun :)

IM
I've finally got the Google Talk to work the way it's suppose to! IM is great for getting information quickly from others. We have easy access to IM through our First Class e-mail program at our school. If users are on, and not teaching, it's like talking face-to-face...without the faces ;)
